Timo Werner scored his first goal in 12 games which, some wags might claim was the the shock of the FA Cup 3rd round, but his goal, the second of four for the Blues was enough to settle any nerves and set the Stamford Bridge outfit up for a secure 4-0 win over League Two Morecambe.
German Werner was on the spot to tap home just before the break at the end of the first half.

Chelsea crash at home losing 3-1 to Man City at the Bridge and drop to eighth in the Premier League

Chelsea were thrashed 3-1 by Manchester City this evening at Stamford Bridge to drop to eighth in the Premier League.

Apart from a possible penalty call for Timo Werner early on, this was as an abject performance that has graced the hallowed turf in SW6 in many a decade.

Callum Hudson-Odoi gave the Blues a consolation goal deep into added time, but it failed to cover up what was a torrid opening first half, that only marginally improved in the second half.

Kerr’s class the difference at Blues battle for three points in 1-0 win against rugged Brighton

Sam Kerr’s glancing header was the difference between the two sides as her first half strike saw the Blues beat rugged Brighton 1-0 this afternoon at Crawley.

The Australian took full advantage of the space created by Pernille Harder, who clipped in the perfect left byline cross and her deft glancing header, from the six-yard area zipped past goalkeeper Cecillie Fiskerstrand.

Mendy error costs Chelsea chance to go top as the Blues lose 1-0 to Everton at Goodison park

A careless error by Edouard Mendy gifted Everton all three points and denied Chelsea the chance to return to the top of the Premier League as the west Londoners lost 1-0 tonight at Goodison Park to end a 17-game unbeaten run.

Mendy needlessly bundled over Dominic Calvert-Lewin inside the away side’s penalty area to concede the spot lick after 22 minutes.
