Charlton Athletic have multiple bids for Exeter City’s Joel Randall turned down

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Charlton Athletic have had two bids for Exeter City’s Joel Randall turned down, Lee Bowyer has revealed.

The 21-year-old midfielder came up through the ranks with the Grecians and has scored eight goals in all competitions for the Devon side this season.

Bowyer said: “We’ve made two bids for him but I don’t think he’s going to be in our price range, from what I hear. He’s a good, young player. But he’s only played about 15 games in League Two in his career. He wouldn’t be for now, he’d be a project for the future. From what I understand, what they’re asking for would be out of our price range.

“Yes, something like that – around a million but I think that’s a lot of money for someone who’s played 14-16 games in League Two. That’s a lot of money for someone that’s done that. But I like him, I think he’s a good player.”
