Cheeky bit of business! Bromley agree new deal with prolific striker

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Michael Cheek has signed a new contract at Bromley until the end of next season.

The 29-year-old has 12 goals this season – 10 of those in the National League – and was on 15 in the truncated 2019-20 campaign.

Cheek said: “I’m delighted to get it [the deal] over the line. I’ve really enjoyed it here. I get on well with all the players and the gaffer – we play some exciting football.

“Hopefully we can push on and get promoted. It’s going well at the moment for me. I think we’re getting stronger week by week.

“I signed to get promoted and the way the club is moving, it’s only going in one direction – and hopefully that is League Two.”

The Ravens have boosted their attacking options by snapping up Yeovil’s Courtney Duffus.

Bromley exited the FA Trophy on Tuesday night – losing 7-6 on penalties at Hayes Lane.

The tie finished 1-1 after normal time, Cheek converting from the spot after a foul on Harry Forster.
