Crystal Palace to take internal action against Eberechi Eze for “error of judgement”
Crystal Palace have issued a statement over Eberechi Eze attending QPR’s FA Cup tie against Fulham on Saturday.
The Eagles playmaker was pictured in the directors’ box at his former club.
QPR manager Mark Warburton admitted earlier today that Eze should not have been admitted to the derby.
The Greenwich-raised attacker was not wearing a face covering, which is a breach of Covid-19 regulations.
Palace said: “QPR have acknowledged they made a mistake in hosting Eberechi Eze in the directors’ box at Saturday’s FA Cup match against Fulham without our knowledge. Whilst we recognise Eberechi’s desire to support his former team-mates, he accepts it was an error of judgement to attend the match.
“We were also concerned to see pictures of Eberechi not wearing a mask at certain moments and are speaking to him about those apparent lapses, which will be dealt with internally.”
