Empower Young Lives with Chance UK
Award winning early intervention charity, Chance UK, is looking for volunteer mentors to help build brighter futures for children across London.
Their solution focussed mentoring programmes help children to identify their strengths, build their self-esteem and develop their social and emotional skills so that they can better support themselves and strive towards positive life aspirations.
Mentoring is not only a great way to recognise your own strengths and skills, but there are lasting positive effects on the child you mentor.
90.9% of children who received mentoring last year to tackle low self-esteem indicated high levels of hope after the programme.
“I didn’t have a lot of faith in myself … my mentor made me speak up more and open up more.” – Chance UK Child.
Chance UK are looking for mentors who can volunteer 2-4 hours of their time per week for 6-9 months to meet their child, set goals and try out new and fun experiences.
Mentoring sessions are currently taking place virtually, but mentors will need to be able to travel to Lambeth or Southwark once face to face mentoring resumes.
You will receive training before you begin and support from one of our experienced Programme Managers throughout your mentoring journey.
“There is a massive amount of good that comes out of mentoring and seeing the improvement in confidence in the child you mentor is uplifting.
The memories of the relationship made sticks with you forever.” – Paul, former Chance UK mentor.
