Vaccination centre to open at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium this weekend

By Owen Sheppard, Local Democracy Reporter

Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium will become a giant vaccination centre this weekend.

The Champions League winners’ ground in Fulham Road will have enough doses for 6,000 people this Saturday, June 19.

It will open between 10am and 7.30pm. Guests will be able to turn up but pre-registering is advised.

Only the Pfizer jab will be available, and you can receive a second jab at the event if it has been one month since your first dose.

Anyone aged over 18 from north west London – including Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea – can attend.

Attendees are asked to have their NHS number ready to help speed up the registration process. Anyone can find out their number using the NHS’s website.

A statement on Chelsea’s website said the club was “delighted” to offer its venue to the NHS.

The one-off jab drive comes as local infection rates have risen sharply over the last week.

The most recent available data from the Government shows that London’s infection rate during the seven days leading up to Friday, June 11 was 69 cases per 100,000 residents.

But in Hammersmith in Fulham the infection rate during the same period was much higher – at 101.5 cases per 100,000. This was due to 188 new cases being discovered in the borough in the seven days to June 11.

Visit this website to register for a time to have your vaccine at Stambridge Bridge this Saturday.
