Hospital in Tooting is raising cash by selling celebrity T-shirts

A hospital’s charity is thanking its healthcare heroes with a string of celebratory T-shirts to raise money for medical equipment.

St George’s Hospital Charity’s clothes, backed by TV host Lorraine Kelly and shadow health secretary Rosena Allin-Khan, tries to discover positivity every day.

Sales will help support patients, staff and families at both St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals through their Thank You Appeal.

The money raised will help fund new medical equipment, facilities, research, support group funding for those living with chronic conditions, arts and musical therapies.

The hospitals serve around 3.5million people and host the births of more than 5,000 babies, sees over 150,000 people and treats 4,000 new cancer patients.

T-shirt designer Adam Bridgland said: “I am honoured to be asked to create work for such an important charity and one that is close to my heart. I have worked for many years in hospital arts and know what a difference they can make to both staff and patients.

“In the current difficult climate the need for a creative response has become even greater. This is my thank you and form of escape to those at St George’s, the NHS and beyond.”

Molly Simpson, St George’s Hospital Charity: “We are so excited about re-launching this project after a successful first round and are excited for everyone to see a new design alongside the previous ones.

“The money raised from each sale is going to make a huge difference and we are so grateful to Adam Bridgland and Jealous Gallery for helping make this possible.”
