Alex Yee takes third place in Super League Triathlon Championship Series opener

Lewisham’s Alex Yee was forced to settle for third place in the opener to the 2022 Super League Triathlon Championship Series.

New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde clinched victory on the final run leg at West India Quay in London. He gained revenge over Yee, who edged him for gold at the Commonwealth Games.

The competition has a triple mix format (swim-bike-run, run-bike-swim and bike-swim-run).

The next round takes place in Munich, Germany on Sunday before heading to Malibu (September 17), Toulouse (October 2) with the finale in Neom, Saudi Arabia on October 29.

There is also a team element to the event, with Yee aiming to collect points for Rhinos.
