Exclusive: AFC Wimbledon set for goalkeeping reshuffle – with Blackburn Rovers an option for stopper
AFC Wimbledon are set for a goalkeeping reshuffle this summer.
The South London Press understands that number one Nik Tzanev looks poised to leave the club, with Blackburn Rovers thought to be interested in bringing the New Zealander to Ewood Park.
Should Tzanev join Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side, he will act as competition to Aynsley Pears, who recently signed a new long-term deal with the Championship outfit.
The 26-year-old has played 117 times in all competitions for the Dons.
The Dons have already shown an interest in Brentford stopper Ellery Balcombe, who spent the season just gone on loan at Crawley Town and League One side Bristol Rovers.
However, Balcombe, 23, who has been capped by England at U20 level and also had loan spells at Bromley and Doncaster Rovers, has interest from sides higher up the football pyramid.
Jamal Blackman could also be an option for the Dons, with the 29-year-old – a product of Chelsea’s academy – keen on a move back to London.
Former Wycombe and Sheffield United loanee Blackman is a free agent after being released by Exeter at the end of this campaign.
Nathan Broome, 21, played the final two games of the season under Johnnie Jackson.
