Police urgently hunt man after series of women followed and attacked

Police are looking for a man after three women were followed and two attacked in the last six weeks.

At around 10.50pm on October 10, a man approached a woman as she was entering a house on Barrington Road, Brixton

He attacked her but after a short struggle she was able to fight him off and he left the area.

On Friday, another woman was walking on Sisters Avenue, Clapham, at around 4am when she noticed a man was following her. As he got close, she began to shout and he ran away.

The third incident took place on Sunday, at around 1.45am. A woman was walking down Sumburgh Road, Wandsworth, when a man approached her and grabbed her but she managed to escape.

The Met have released an image of a man they want to speak to after the three incidents – which they believe to be linked.

The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, of slim build and with short blonde hair.

Met Chief Inspector Dave Lee, said: “These were extremely frightening incidents for the women involved and we are using all of the resources at our disposal to identify the individual responsible.

“We know this will cause community concern and we will be carrying out extra patrols at key times. We would encourage anyone who believes they can help our investigation to contact us as soon as possible.”
