Napoli eyeing summer move for Crystal Palace forward

Serie A side Napoli have firm interest in Crystal Palace attacker Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of a potential summer move, the South London Press understands.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed his best spell in front of goal for the Eagles this season, returning 20 goal contributions across the whole campaign.

French forward Mateta has scored 13 Premier League goals this season and netted 10 times since Oliver Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.

He also scored a hat-trick in the EFL Cup second round tie at Plymouth earlier in the season.

The Ex-Lyon striker picked up the club’s Player of the Season award for his performances this season. 

Real Betis and Eintracht Frankfurt have both monitored Mateta in recent windows, with the Eagles turning down two approaches from RB Leipzig in August 2023.

The Eagles value the former Mainz forward at around €30million.

Mateta, who has made over 100 Crystal Palace appearances, has two years, plus a club option, left on his deal with the South Londoners.
