Women’s football round-up: Millwall Lionesses thrashed but Dulwich Hamlet progress in FA Cup

Millwall Lionesses crashed out of the FA Cup as they suffered a 8-0 drubbing at the hands of New London Lionesses.

The South Londoners trailed 4-0 by the break.

Millwall keeper Millie Carter pulled off a number of saves to keep the scoreline down. Lois Smith also produced a goal-line clearance.

The Lionesses are back in Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South action on Sunday as they host Hutton FC.

Dulwich Hamlet Women did progress in the FA Cup with a 6-2 victory at Hackney.

Saskia Philp scored a hat-trick. Sophie Manzi netted twice with Lucy Monkman also on target.

Hamlet will take on Lancing on October 4 in the next round.

Palace goalkeeper Chloe Morgan has joined the Women in Football board.

Morgan, a lawyer, said: “I am a great admirer of the work of Women in Football in promoting, developing and championing women in the industry. I’m really thrilled to be joining the board and supporting the cause in any way I can.”

Charlton and Crystal Palace are back in FA Women’s Championship action on September 27. Palace host Blackburn Rovers while the Addicks head to Liverpool.
