Neal Ardley has insisted he was not even aware of reports linking him to the vacant Notts County job.
The Magpies parted company with manager Kevin Nolan after their 3-1 defeat at Lincoln City on Saturday– which leaves them bottom of League Two.
Ardley has been linked to the role alongside Crawley Town boss Harry Kewell – but claims it is just “paper talk”.
Speaking after tonight’s 3-1 EFL Cup loss to West Ham United, he said: “I’ve got no idea. I have no clue about it.
“I’ve been in my office all day and the first I’ve heard about it was being told just now. It’s just paper talk.”
