AFC Wimbledon confirm key defender will depart – but Nesta Guinness-Walker and Zach Robinson are still in contract talks

AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that they have offered Nesta Guinness-Walker, Anthony Hartigan, Paul Osew and Zach Robinson new deals and also that Alex Woodyard is retained for next season.

The Dons also announced that Cheye Alexander, Corie Andrews, Ben Heneghan, Egli Kaja, Jack Madelin, Isaac Olaniyan, Zaki Oualah and Derick Osei Yaw will all depart this summer.

The South London Press revealed on Saturday that Andrews would be leaving Plough Lane, with a handful of League Two clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old forward.

Our paper also understands that Jack Rudoni is set to leave this summer, and the Dons could receive a club-record transfer fee for his sale.

Wimbledon’s five-season stint in League One came to an end last campaign after a 27-game winless run in all competitions – under Mark Robinson and his replacement Mark Bowen – saw the club relegated to League Two.

They appointed former Charlton Athletic boss Johnnie Jackson as Bowen’s replacement last week.

Dons captain Alex Woodyard, who was set to be out of contract at the end of this campaign, will be a part of Jackson’s squad for next season.
