AFC Wimbledon exploring loan options for midfielder
AFC Wimbledon midfielder Alfie Bendle is set to head out on loan.
The South London Press understands that the Dons are exploring options for the 17-year-old in order for him to gain first-team exposure.
Bendle has made 12 appearances this season in all competitions and has been named in Johnnie Jackson’s matchday squad 22 times in League Two this season.
Ex-Brighton youngster Bendle made his debut for the Dons under Mark Bowen in the 3-4 defeat to Accrington Stanley on the final day of last season’s League One campaign.
Bowen – now head of football operations at Reading – said Bendle will be a “big player” for the club moving forward after the game.
Bendle was not included in the matchday squad for the 0-0 draw with Bradford City last weekend.
Wimbledon recently signed midfielder Armani Little on loan for the rest of the season from Forest Green. While George Marsh and Alex Woodyard have started the past two outings alongside each other.
Bendle had a loan spell with Isthmian League Premier Division side Corinthian-Casuals last season.
