AFC Wimbledon head coach on facing Charlton Athletic after a managerial change

AFC Wimbledon head coach Mark Robinson reckons Charlton’s managerial situation backs up exactly why his approach is not to focus heavily on the opposition.
The Dons face their fellow South London club at Plough Lane tomorrow afternoon.
Johnnie Jackson took caretaker charge for Charlton’s 3-2 midweek win over Bristol Rovers with Nigel Adkins appointed as Lee Bowyer’s successor yesterday.
Charlton are likely to shift their tactics and some of their starting personnel under new management.
“It’s why it’s so important you don’t focus too much on the opposition,” said Robinson.
“We’ll probably look at their key players and where their threats come from.
“We’ll have an idea of what they have done previously but also need to be aware that can completely change. I always say to the players that football is not paint by numbers – you need to develop decision-makers so they can react.
“There will be a 20 per cent focus on them and the rest will be on us.
“We’ve come back from losing positions three times now and we hadn’t done that all season before, so that shows character and resilience.”
Nik Tzanev is set to continue in goal for the Dons with Reading loanee Sam Walker out with a knee injury.
“We don’t think it is just going to be a week or two for Sam,” said Robinson.
