Age UK Lambeth appeal for donations for elderly

Age UK Lambeth is encouraging donors to support older isolated people this winter.

Graham Gardiner, Age UK Lambeth’s chief executive, said: “This year we have spoken to thousands of isolated older people living in Lambeth who have found 2020 the hardest year of their lives.

“Even people who were previously very active and involved in their communities have found themselves cut off from the world.

“By switching our services to over-the-phone and helping people get online we have provided a lifeline for many this year.

“If you can afford to donate your winter fuel payment and decide to give it to Age UK Lambeth then we would be very grateful.

“Your generosity will help reach out to some of your most socially isolated neighbours here in the borough.”

You can make a donation online here or by sending a cheque made payable to Age UK Lambeth to: Winter Appeal, Age UK Lambeth, Third floor, 336 Brixton Road, London, SW9 7AA.

Everyone at the South London Press thanks you for your continued support.

Former Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has encouraged everyone in the country who can afford to do so to buy a newspaper, and told the Downing Street press briefing:

“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”

If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online. Or please make cheques payable to “MSI Media Limited” and send by post to South London Press, Unit 112, 160 Bromley Road, Catford, London SE6 2NZ
