Armed confrontation in Crystal Palace is over before police arrive

By Rafi Mauro-Benady

Police were called yesterday following reports of a rowdy dispute that could have turned nasty.

Officers attended Crystal Palace Road, Crystal Palace, at 1.45pm, and searched the area but those involved had run away before police arrived.

A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, was driving past as the commotion unfolded.

They said: “All I saw was a group of men shouting and waving knives around in broad daylight without a care in the world.

“And to think something like this would happen on a busy, residential road.

“It was really quite scary.”

There have been no reports of any injuries and no arrests.
