Arsenal loan winger returns for Charlton Athletic’s game at Northampton Town

By Richard Cawley

Stephy Mavididi will be back on the bench for Charlton Athletic on Easter Friday – with caretaker boss Lee Bowyer also boosted by the returns of Josh Magennis and Ezri Konsa from international duty.

On-loan Arsenal attacker Mavididi has been out with a hamstring injury but will be ready for the League One clash.

Magennis and Konsa are also back in the selection mix, with left-back Jay Dasilva also resuming training.

Bowyer said: “Ezri is off today but Josh came back and trained on Monday. [Ahmed] Kashi is back in the building, that’s a positive. I’ve just seen little Jay Dasilva at breakfast. He has trained the last two days at Chelsea and is training with us today.

“Stephy will be on the bench at the weekend. I’ve got some good players coming back – two internationals coming back and little Jay Dasilva, who I love.

“I don’t think Kashi will be ready yet, he is doing stuff with staff. It is good to have them back because we have got a lot of games in a short space of time, there will be rotation.”

  • Please don’t pick Maginnis. He is a lazy player and a moaner. Let’s play feet football not loft and hope. We hope so much with maginnis
