Artist Cierra Block creates illustrated maps highlighting the best London hot spots

An artist has created a book of maps that details the best that London has to offer, with imaginative illustrations.

Block by Block illustrator Cierra Block shares 50 maps showing the best places to go in London, whether it’s for food, history, culture, shopping, beautiful buildings or gardens.

Each map starts with an idea such as where are the best pancakes in London?

What are the places everyone should visit in Marylebone? Or, where in London can you lose hours browsing the shelves of a beautiful bookstore?

From there, Ms Block has put together a list of the best places accompanying a charming painted map.

The combination of utility and design produces a beautiful book of maps allowing readers to create memorable experiences across London.

Whether it’s a first visit to London, you’re a seasoned vacationer or an all-your-life local, this book will be your inspiration for exploration.

Ms Block said: “When we look at a map we can make sense of our surroundings, we intuitively understand the relationship between where we are and where we want to go.

“They help us make sense of the world around us. And all the better if it leads to a hidden corner of London.”
