Bombay Delight brings regional Indian delicacies to Wimbledon

Following the success of his first restaurant in Vauxhall, chef and founder Ajay Chaurasia has opened his second restaurant Bombay Delight in Wimbledon.

Bringing hidden gems of Indian cuisine to South-west London, the menu features lesser-known, regional Indian dishes alongside all-time favourites, with a focus on using fresh ingredients and fragrant spices to bring traditional recipes to life.

Chaurasia’s depth of knowledge has allowed him to devise a menu which captures the true essence of India.

Appetisers are made to be shared.

Highlights include Tiltala Jhinga – crispy succulent king prawns coated with de-hulled sesame seeds & gram flour, Sticky Tamarind Wings, Avocado Chat and Murgh Hariyali Tikka – grilled chicken breast marinated with fresh green spices & hung yoghurt.

Curries are packed full of flavour, with a choice of long-standing favourites including Bombay Butter Chicken, alongside unusual options like Nashila Gosh lamb curry with red wine and rum and Lamb Angara, a spicy slow cooked curry using smoked lamb, onion, tomato, ginger and garlic.

The menu will also celebrate the South Indian seafood curries we all know and love – Jhinga Dil Bahar king prawn curry with tomato and coconut milk and a Keralan Monkfish Alleppey with coconut and raw mango.

With sides such as Masala Dosa and Methi Chaman – a unique dish made using grated paneer, fenugreek and spinach, Chaurasia has created a menu which is varied and inventive and showcases his years of experience and passion for Indian cuisine.

Rice, biryani, paratha, naan and roti will all be in abundance, ready to mop up the curries and dals which will fill the tables.

Bombay Delight are running an offer exclusively for anyone with an SW19 postcode – a complimentary glass of Prosecco of a pint of beer with their meal.
