Bromley striker Cheek signs new contract

Michael Cheek has signed a contract extension with Bromley.

The 31-year-old has scored 57 goals in 151 appearances since joining the Ravens from Ebbsfleet United in 2019.

Centre-forward Cheek scored the winning goal in last season’s 1-0 FA Trophy final victory over Wrexham at Wembley.

“I love this club,” Cheek told the club’s official website after penning a new deal. “I’ve been here a while now, so I’m delighted to get it over the line.

“It’s another special day for me after that win at Wembley. It was an incredible day for myself, my family, the fans and obviously for the club.

“I’ve been here for four years now and I can’t wait to make some more special memories.”

Striker Finlay Lovatt, who signed from Leyton Orient has joined Corinthian Casuals on a short-term loan. Loanees Reece Hannam and Charles Clayden have returned to Crystal Palace and Charlton respectively.

Andy Woodman’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat to National League promotion-hopefuls Wrexham on Tuesday night.

Corey Whitely finished off Louis Dennis’ cross from just inside the area past Mark Howard in the 33rd minute to give the South Londoners the lead.

Phil Parkinson’s big-spenders pulled level before half-time when Paul Mullin scored his 18th of the season from the penalty spot.

Wrexham sealed all three points in the 73rd minute when James Jones’ effort deflected past Bromley keeper Reice Charles-Cook.

Bromley are seven points off the play-off places in the National League and host Yeovil Town at Hayes Lane on Saturday.

Fisher progressed through to the fourth round of the SCEFL Cup after their 3-2 win over Phoenix Sports on Tuesday night.

Isaac Thompson, Eniyelayefa Amgbaduba and Michael Sarpong scored for the Fish, who host Rusthall in the SCEFL Premier Division this weekend.
