Burton Albion v Charlton Athletic team news: Alex Gilbey makes first start in over two months as Addicks make two changes

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Alex Gilbey makes his first start in two months as Charlton travel to Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium.

Boss Lee Bowyer makes two changes from the team that drew at Gillingham on Saturday, as Gilbey is joined by striker Paul Smyth in the side.

Deji Oshilaja and Jonny Williams both return from knocks to feature on the bench.

Former Milton Keynes man Gilbey had been out for two months with an Achilles problem but he replaces Albie Morgan to make his first start since the 3-1 home loss against Doncaster on September 19th.

Smyth will play alongside Omar Bogle up front, as Conor Washington drops to the bench.

Oshilaja has been missing since the 0-0 draw with Sunderland back in early October, whilst Williams last featured during the FA Cup defeat against Plymouth but picked up a minor groin problem whilst on international duty with Wales.

Charlton: Amos, Maatsen, Pratley, Gunter, Matthews, Watson, Gilbey, Shinnie, Maddison, Smyth, Bogle. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Oshilaja, Pearce, Williams, Aneke, Washington, Morgan.
