Cardiff City release former Charlton and Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams
Former Charlton and Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams has been released by Cardiff City.
The Welsh side signed the 27-year-old on February 1 but he played just 174 minutes of Championship football.
Cardiff announced on Tuesday that Williams would not be offered new terms.
“Our departing Bluebirds will always be welcome here at Cardiff City Stadium and we wish them all the very best for the future,” said City in a statement on their official website.
Williams had joined Charlton in the January 2019 window and was part of Lee Bowyer’s squad which won promotion to the Championship.
He scored two goals in 66 appearances for the Addicks.
Williams started his career at Palace and featured 70 times at first-team level.
