Crystal Palace Low Traffic Neighbourhood’s return in the form of cameras

After six months of back and forth, Croydon Council has decided it will go ahead with an ‘experimental order’ that will restrict traffic through a number of roads in Crystal Palace and South Norwood. Last year a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) was introduced in the area, with planters stopping through-traffic on Fox Hill, Stambourne Way and Sylvan Way as well as a bus gate in Auckland Road.

Sam Shallcross, Head of Computing at Bromley High Junior School GDST, was asked to speak at Discovery Education’s Learning for Now — a special online event which explored how teachers can deliver an enriched curriculum that gives children the skills they need for life.

Met officer charged with death by dangerous driving almost five years after death of ten-year-old

A Met officer has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving almost five years after a 10-year-old boy and his aunt were struck by a stolen car that was being pursued by police. The Crown Prosecution Service charged PC Edward Welch with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and dangerous driving.

Police search for two men after the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old school boy

An 11-year-old boy has been left shaken after two men attempted to abduct him on his way home from school. Police were called at 4.40pm on Friday, April 30, after two males are alleged to have pursued the young boy in Beckenham. The boy was walking home from school on Whitmore Road, when he was approached by two men in a small black van who asked him if he wanted a lift.
