Catford Wanderers tennis: Men and women’s teams both pick up wins in weekend sunshine

Catford Wanderers’ men had a comfortable win over Old Wilsonians, the perfect remedy to their massive loss to Sidcup Recreation last time out.

Sean Harvey and Lyndon Douglas beat Richard North and Simon Jago 7-5 6-4 and followed up with a 7-5 6-0 win over Harry Suggett and Omar Edet.

Leigh Cole and Julian Langley picked up two victories as well and third pair Andy Hellier and James Onifade registered a draw and a loss.

The ladies’ first team – Kathy Aldridge, Lilla Brown , Julia Garling and Stephanie James – beat Bromley Wendover. Their second quartet of Donna Gabriel, Toni Boardman, Terri Borg and Basha Olsinka won at Beckenham.

The men’s veterans third side – Cosmos Charles, Kalam Azad, Peter Tombleson and Denis Costelloe – went down 4-0 to David Lloyd Dartford.
