Catford Wanderers Tennis round-up: Mixed second team suffer another reverse

BY DENIS COSTELLOE

Catford Wanderers’ mixed second team suffered their second successive defeat after going down 4-2 to Old Wilsonians.

The match hinged on the final game between the third pairs with Catford’s mother and son partnership of Julie and Stefan Taylor up against Mark Baston and Catherine Caulfield. The Taylors took the first set 6-3, lost the second 4-6 but faded in the deciding tie break.

Catford could be pleased with the new John Townsend and Donna Gabriel partnership who picked up two victories.

Andy Hellier and Jo Brigden lost both their matches.

Catford mens veterans second lost 3-1 at Hartley Country Club.
