Charlton Athletic boss confirms West Ham midfielder is a target
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has confirmed his interest in West Ham midfielder Josh Cullen.
We revealed earlier this summer that the Addicks wanted the 22-year-old, who has been on loan at Bolton Wanderers and Bradford City.
“He is one we’re trying to bring in,” said Bowyer. “That is where we are short at the moment – midfield.
“We have not really got much cover there. We are using young lads. They are doing well but it comes to a point where they need a break. We’re trying to rotate them the best we can.
“But when [Darren] Pratley looked tired on Tuesday night you want to get experience on to replace him. It is difficult, you don’t want to put kids on in difficult situations.
“Josh is definitely someone we’re interested in, for sure.”
