Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has hinted that Ali Koiki still has work to do to land a contract.
The 21-year-old left-back, who left Burnley in the summer, has been training with the Addicks and played in their U23 match against Millwall earlier this week.
The Clarets are due compensation for Koiki, as he turned down new terms.
But asked about a deal for the defender, Bowyer told the South London Press: “He’s still just training with us. We’ll keep looking at him.
“But like I’ve said before – many, many times – we have to pick the right people.”
