Charlton Athletic boss laughs off Johnnie Jackson link to Luton Town

Lee Bowyer laughed off rumours linking assistant Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson to the vacant Luton Town job.

The Hatters are searching for a new boss after former Addicks coach Nathan Jones left to join Stoke City, and a flurry of twitter rumours and shortening odds with the bookies had some Addicks fans worried that club stalwart Jackson would depart for pastures new.

“No,” replied Bowyer when asked if he was aware of any link with Luton.

“I don’t think Johnnie does either. Apparently, someone put something out saying Johnnie had a meeting yesterday. Johnnie said ‘that was a quick meeting because I wasn’t even there.’ I don’t think there’s any truth behind it.”
