Charlton Athletic confirm Championship opposition in SE7 as part of pre-season friendly plans
Charlton have announced their first pre-season friendly. The South Londoners will welcome Championship side Swansea City to The Valley on July 23.
The match will be a 3pm kick off.
The Addicks, still to appoint the managerial successor to Johnnie Jackson, will resume fitness testing on June 16 before heading off for a training camp in Spain the following weekend.
The League One season starts on July 30.
Swansea finished 15th in the Championship last season, their first campaign under manager Russell Martin. They lost just two of their last 10 matches, drawing five of those.
They had the highest average possession in England’s second tier (63.9), just ahead of title-winning Fulham (60.8). They also had a divisional high accurate passes per match, an average of 512.
