Charlton Athletic face Norwich City test in FA Cup – Dons to take on non-league opposition
Charlton Athletic will face Norwich City at The Valley in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Addicks dispatched non league Gateshead 2-0 on Friday evening. A goal in either half from Jayden Stockley was enough to secure a place in the next round.
The South Londoners have the advantage when it comes to head-to-head meetings. Charlton have won 35, with 19 draws and the Premier League side have won 28.
The last time the two sides met was in August 2017, when Norwich thrashed Charlton 4-1 at Carrow Road.
The Canaries reached round four of the competition last year but were knocked out by Barnsley. Charlton crashed out at the first hurdle after they lost 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle.
AFC Wimbledon have been drawn away against either Boreham Wood or St Albans City.
The Dons 4-3 win against Cheltenham Town on Saturday ensured they progressed to round three. A brace each from Ollie Palmer and Ayoub Assal gave the League One side the victory.
The ties will be played over the weekend of January 7-10 2022.
