Charlton Athletic keeper nominated for League One Player of the Month for December

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray has been nominated for December’s League One Player of the Month award.

The Addicks stopper conceded just one goal in their three matches over that period.

“Consistent all season, MacGillivray has been a calm presence and cornerstone in Charlton’s revival,” said Sky Bet, the official sponsors, in their press release. “He pulled off a number of reaction saves against Cambridge to underpin his side’s victory.”

There are three other nominees for the accolade.

Oxford striker Matty Taylor scored four goals in five matches – three of them either an opener or leveller. Sunderland midfielder Alex Pritchard scored one goal and produced four assists. Rotherham United midfielder Dan Barlaser netted four times in the month.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
