Charlton Athletic set for fitness boost ahead of League One play-off final against Sunderland

Charlton Athletic are set to see their selection options boosted for Sunday’s League One play-off final – with Ben Reeves expected to resume training tomorrow.

The Addicks have virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from for their Wembley clash with Sunderland. Striker Igor Vetokele missed the semi-final ties against Doncaster Rovers with a thigh problem.

“Reevesy should be back,” Charlton manager Lee Bowyer told the South London Press. “He’s been running and I think he’s due to train with us tomorrow.

“He had done something to his calf, a strain. But he is back now. He’ll have a full week of training under his belt and that is a plus for us.”

  • Lee Bowyer and his staff have been brilliant in forming a great hard working team and engendered a fantastic fan support that has been sadly missing due, unfortunately, to very poor ownership. I live in Spain but will be flying in to see the playoff final at Wembley. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Hopefully, your efforts will start the revival of a great family club and get us back where we belong. Very best of luck for Sunday.
