Charlton Athletic set to sign Luton midfielder and free transfer addition of Milton Keynes defender
Charlton Athletic are set to sign Luton Town midfielder Louie Watson on loan.
The South London Press understands that the 22-year-old South Londoner, born in Croydon, has agreed a temporary move to SE7.
Watson has a brother – Noah – who is in Crystal Palace’s academy.
He started on the books of West Ham United before joining Derby County in 2020.
Watson, who has won junior caps for England and then switched allegiance to the Republic of Ireland, signed for the Hatters for an undisclosed fee in July 2022.
He made five appearances for Luton in the 2022-23 season as they won promotion to the Premier League.
Charlton are also set to sign free agent Tennai Watson.
The 26-year-old full-back had been offered fresh terms by Milton Keynes at the end of the last campaign.
Watson suffered a hamstring injury which kept him out until November but was then a virtual ever present in League One, making 34 appearances in all competitions.
He started his career at Reading and had a loan with AFC Wimbledon in the 2018-19 campaign.
