Charlton Athletic striker Stockley set for Fleetwood Town move

Charlton Athletic striker Jayden Stockley is set to join Fleetwood Town.

The South London Press understands the player will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Cod Army.

Stockley, 29, still has 18 months to run on his Addicks terms.

The former Exeter, Preston North End and Aberdeen centre-forward did not make Charlton’s matchday squad for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers with manager Dean Holden saying the frontman was absent due to a slight calf injury.

The Charlton boss recently took the captaincy off Stockley and handed it to George Dobson.

Wigan Athletic and Hibernian were also thought to be interested in Stockley, who had been the subject of an ambitious attempt by League Two Gillingham.

Stockley could be back in SE7 with Fleetwood on February 11.
