Charlton Athletic v Blackburn Rovers: Aiden McGeady starts for Addicks
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Aiden McGeady makes his first start since joining Charlton Athletic – the one change made by manager Lee Bowyer for today’s home game against Blackburn Rovers.
Andre Green – a doubt due to a knee injury – is fit enough to be on the bench. Jonny Williams is not in the matchday 18.
Erhun Oztumer is the player to make way for McGeady, signed on loan from Sunderland at the end of the last transfer window.
Charlton are looking for a third consecutive league win over Blackburn and also claim back-to-back home Championship victories for the first time since 2016 when Jose Riga was in charge.
Charlton: Phillips, Matthews, Pearce, Lockyer, Sarr, Doughty, Cullen, Davis McGeady, Hemed, Taylor. Subs: Amos, Purrington, Oshilaja, Oztumer, Bonne, Green, Smith.
Blackburn Rovers: Walton, Nyambe, Johnson, Armstrong, Samuel, Bell, Downing, Adarabioyo, Lenihan, Travis, Buckley. Subs: Leutwiler, Graham, Chapman, Davenport, Brereton, Bennett, Carter.
