Charlton Athletic v Plymouth Argyle team line-ups: Bowyer makes three changes for Boxing Day match

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has made three changes for the Boxing Day clash with Plymouth Argyle.

The Addicks boss brings in Chuks Aneke up top with Omar Bogle dropping to the bench.

And Jonny Williams and Adam Matthews also come into the side with Alex Gilbey and Marcus Maddison also reverting to substitutes.

Bowyer’s options are boosted by the return of Paul Smyth (gashed leg) and Albie Morgan (Covid-19).

Charlton are without Alfie Doughty, Ryan Inniss, Akin Famewo and Andrew Shinnie – the quartet are all injured.

Argyle have lost six of their last seven away matches in League One.

Charlton: Amos, Maatsen, Pearce, Gunter, Matthews, Pratley, Watson, Forster-Caskey, Williams, Washington, Aneke. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Oshilaja, Gilbey, Bogle, Morgan, Maddison, Smyth.

Plymouth Argyle: Cooper, Aimson, Canavan, Watts, Edwards, Grant, MacLeod, Camara, Mayor, Hardie, Jephcott. Subs: McCormick, Wooton, Nouble, Telford, Reeves, Moore, Fornah.
