Charlton Athletic v Sunderland: Chris Solly starts with Jonny Williams on the bench
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Chris Solly returns from suspension to start for Charlton today – with new signing Jonny Williams on the bench for the visit of his former club Sunderland.
The Addicks snapped up Williams on a permanent deal on Friday and he has gone straight into the squad for the visit of the Black Cats.
Ben Reeves (hamstring) misses out with Darren Pratley returning to the starting line up.
Albie Morgan keeps his place in midfield after an impressive display last time out against Walsall.
Charlton also have injuries ruling out Lewis Page, Jason Pearce, Jake Forster-Caskey, Josh Cullen, Joe Aribo, George Lapslie and Igor Vetokele.
The Addicks are looking for a sixth straight League One victory at The Valley.
Sunderland have lost just once in the league since mid-September – a 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth just before Christmas.
Charlton: Phillips, Dijksteel, Bauer, Sarr, Solly, Morgan, Pratley, Bielik, Fosu, Grant, Taylor. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Stevenson, Marshall, Ajose, Williams, Hackett-Fairchild, Clarke.
Sunderland: McLaughlin, McGeouch, Wyke, Gooch, Flanagan, O’Nien, Baldwin, James, McGeady, Maja, Power. Subs: Ruiter, Ozturk, Maguire, Watmore, Sinclair, Mumba.
