Charlton manager Lee Bowyer has confirmed that Tariqe Fosu is joining Oxford United.

The winger, 23, had been offered new terms by the Addicks, but only to ensure the SE7 outfit got compensation.

The Addicks boss said: “I spoke to Tariqe a couple of days ago – I just wished him all the best.

“He’s going to Oxford. He knows Karl [Robinson] – I think it’s going to be a good fit for him.”

Asked if a fee was involved for Fosu, Bowyer said: “I ain’t got a clue in that – the money side. I don’t get involved in that.

“But footballing-wise I think it is the right place for him to go.

“Karl has been interested in him a long time.”
