Charlton loan signing has a point to prove after failing to light up Championship during Preston North End loan spell

Stephy Mavididi is targeting promotion with Charlton Athletic after rejoining the South London club on loan.

We revealed on Monday that the 19-year-old Arsenal attacker, who spent the first half of the campaign with Championship side Preston North End, was SE7-bound once more.

And Charlton have confirmed the move late this afternoon.

Mavididi said: “I’m looking forward to coming back and enjoying my football again. I want to pick up where I left off at Charlton and help the club to achieve promotion.

“I really enjoyed my time here last season and, for any young player moving club, it is always easier when you go somewhere that you know people and I hope that I can settle back in straight away.”

Addicks boss Karl Robinson added: “I am really looking forward to working with Stephy again. He is such a talented player and we only got to see a glimpse of what he could do last time he was here.

“I’ve watched him a lot since he’s come back from injury and he is a phenomenal talent. I don’t think it is any secret that we wanted to bring him in over the summer

“The fans will have seen how quick, powerful and skilful he is from his first spell with us. He is a Championship quality player already and he comes to Charlton now with a point to prove.”
