Chelsea linked with move for free agent Wayne Hennessey

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing former Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

The Eagles released Hennessey when his contract expired on July 1.

The 34-year-old made 110 appearances for Palace over an eight-season spell with the South London club.

The Daily Express are reporting that Chelsea are set to make a shock move for the Wales International.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga, so it is believed Hennessey would act as the Blues third-choice keeper.

The veteran goalkeeper would be Tuchel’s first signing as Chelsea boss.
