Cricket: Kemar Roach bolsters Surrey for remainder of County Championship season

Kemar Roach will be returning to Surrey for the remainder of the County Championship season.

Roach will be available for the match against Essex at The Kia Oval that starts on July 19.

In his two spells at Surrey so far, Roach has taken 26 wickets at an average 22.7, including 8-40 against Hampshire last summer.

The West Indian international started the summer with Surrey, playing two matches before suffering a hamstring injury.

In the recent two Test series against Bangladesh, Roach took 10 wickets for just 18.5 runs apiece as the West Indies won both games. The man from Barbados has taken 252 Test wickets at an average of 26.8 including 10 five wicket hauls in 73 matches.

Alec Stewart, Surrey’s director of cricket, said “We know all the qualities that Kemar brings and I look forward to seeing him play a big part in the last five championship games.”

Tickets for Tuesday’s game are available for £15 here.
