Crystal Palace Ladies sign Brighton striker

BY JOSHUA BUNTING
Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Kate Natkiel from Women’s Super League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
Natkiel becomes the Eagles’ second signing of the summer as they brought in goalkeeper Chloe Morgan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Natkiel, who can play as a centre-forward or as a winger, has also represented Watford and Portsmouth.
She started her career at Arsenal’s youth academy U10s and progressed through the age groups at the North London club. She also represented Hoddesdon Owls at youth level.
During her time at Brighton she was part of the squad to win the FA Women’s Premier League, gaining promotion to the FA Women’s Super League.
Natkiel said: “I’m excited for a new challenge with a club that shares my ambitions; I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to enjoying my football again.”
Palace manager Dean Davenport was keen to strengthen in the final third with Réa Laudat and Madga Mosengo departing at different points during the 2019-20 season.
“Kate’s a proven goalscorer at this level,” he said. “With Ashlee Hincks’ recovery from her long-term injury going well, plus Amber Stobbs’ good goalscoring start here, I’m looking forward to Kate linking up with the squad, as she will offer an excellent alternative in the final third.”
