Crystal Palace striker Freddie Ladapo has joined Southend United on a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old, who was due to be out of contract with the Eagles in the summer, has signed a six-month deal with the Shrimpers – now bossed by former Charlton manager Chris Powell – also having a 12-month option.
Ladapo could make his debut for Southend at Peterborough on Saturday.
He said: “I’m hoping to get into the team on Saturday because it’s a huge game and I just want to hit the ground running; if I’m involved in the game this weekend then I hope it’s a good debut for me.”
