Daniel Dubois wins on points against cagey American Johnson
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Daniel Dubois saw his 100 per cent stoppage record go as he won a wide points verdict against seasoned American Kevin Johnson on Saturday night.
The Greenwich heavyweight nudged his record to 9-0 with a 100-91 points victory at the Leicester Arena.
Dubois was in control throughout but found Johnson, 39, impossible to shift as the Georgia native saw it through to the final bell despite taking plenty of punishment.
The South Londoner, 21, took just 12 rounds to blow out his first seven opponents but Johnson withstood his power – even if he showed no ambition to try and win the contest.
