Dijon have option to turn Kamara stay into permanent deal – as Fulham send fringe players out on loan
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Aboubakar Kamara has joined Dijon on loan – with the French club also holding an option to buy the Fulham striker.
The 25-year-old was one of a number of the Whites’ fringe players who were shifted out on deadline day.
Middlesbrough were also keen on Kamara but he opted for a return to his native France.
He scored 15 goals in 45 matches for Amiens before an undisclosed move to Fulham in 2017 on a four-year contract.
Kamara has made just two Premier League starts this season, with Ivan Cavaleiro preferred as a makeshift striker despite the dearth of goals for the west London outfit since promotion.
Kamara has netted 17 times in 93 outings for Fulham.
Boro manager Neil Warnock quickly shifted his sights to Neeskens Kebano after missing out on Kamara.
The winger – a double play-off winner for the Whites – was being punted around Championship clubs at the end of the transfer window.
Warnock has added a number of players with South London links to his squad last month – also completing a loan for former Palace wideman Yannick Bolasie and ex-Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer.
Centre-back Maxime Le Marchand, 31, has joined Royal Antwerp on loan.
The Frenchman has played just 122 minutes of Premier League football this season.
