European move emerges as loan option for Crystal Palace defender

RWD Molenbeek has emerged as a serious loan option for Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola.

Bristol Rovers and Port Vale had both been keen on a deal for the 20-year-old, but the South London Press understands a stint in the Belgian Pro League could now be the most viable destination for the left-back.

Adaramola’s only stint away from Selhurst Park so far came when he joined Championship side Coventry at the start of the 2022-23 season.

However, his season-long loan was brought to an end after just one appearance – a 4-1 defeat in the EFL Cup against Bristol City – and he returned to Palace’s U21 side for the rest of the campaign.

Defender Jake O’Brien, who was sold to Lyon in the summer, spent last season at Molenbeek, helping them win the Challenger Pro League and win promotion to the Belgian top flight.

Molenbeek, 13th in the Pro League, are owned by Palace co-owner John Textor.

Lyon, who are also owned by Textor, have also loaned promising centre-back Mamadou Sarr to Molenbeek.
