Exclusive: Dundee United and Dundee keen on Charlton Athletic goalkeeper MacGillivray

Craig MacGillivray could be set for a deadline day exit from Charlton Athletic with Dundee United and Dundee both interested in the goalkeeper.

The 29-year-old has lost the number one spot in SE7 to Joe Wollacott.

A move north of the border could appeal to MacGillivray, who was born in Perth and has spoken before of his desire to represent Scotland.

Both clubs have expressed an interest in a permanent deal for the former Portsmouth stopper, who is due to be a free agent at the end of June.

MacGillivray has not played a single minute in any competition for the Addicks this season – not even featuring on Wednesday night in the EFL Trophy as Nathan Harness came in.

And his lack of game time is in stark contrast to last season when he made 45 appearances, 43 of those in League One.

Charlton are set to lose Wollacott later in the year when he is expected to be part of Ghana’s World Cup squad. But they would be able to get special dispensation to sign a stopper on loan with Harness, 22, only having made one league appearance.
