Exclusive: Lee Bowyer – Lyle Taylor has turned down Charlton Athletic contract offer
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer says Lyle Taylor has turned down a new contract.
The Addicks striker responded to people on Twitter last night saying he had not been offered terms by the Championship side.
But Bowyer – speaking exclusively to the South London Press – said: “Lyle has been offered a contract and he declined it.
“It’s his choice if he wants to sign it or not.
“We’ve offered him a good contract. Roland [Duchatelet] offered him what we think is a good contract.”
Taylor was the subject of repeated bids from Brentford during the summer transfer window. Duchatelet rejected the Bees’ bids. But the striker, 29, has recently been linked with West Bromwich Albion and Rangers.
Steve, don’t bother with him mate. He hasn’t got the first clue. Haven’t even been offered a contract 🤣🤣🤣
